Synopsis
You are on your way to your reconnaissance mission in a distant galaxy. Unfortunately, your spaceship crashed into an asteroid field, and you got trapped in the cockpit of the vessel. With a thick galactic fog blocking any normal communications, your only chance for survival is to build a signal tower large and powerful enough to penetrate. Luckily, resources are plentiful in the asteroid field, but unknown dangers lurking within make collecting resources no easy task. Can you gracefully navigate such a dangerous place and send that dreaded distress signal?
Gameplay
You are in control of a remote-controlled drone that was greatly affected by the surrounding area, where high input latencies are normal all around the asteroid field. Take care in steering the drone and keep monitoring the latencies, or risk losing the drone to the void.
The drone is equipped with a pair of auto cannons that are capable of destroying asteroid deposits and enemies alike. Destroying them would grant you various resources as follows:
- Ether : A form of condensed energy that every action requires
- Biomass : An unknown organic compound that enhances movement in space
- Astrocrystal : A volatile substance that is perfect for weaponaries
- Metallic Salt: Useful in drone hull modification
Resources are used to upgrade your drone or build the signal tower. They can also be found in various quantities in different places on the map, so please explore the area carefully.
The magnetic grapple force field is the most useful feature in retrieving the resources without getting near them. Simply fire the force field at the resources, and it will handle the rest.
Complete the game by building the signal tower and broadcasting the distress message.
Theme interpretation
- "A poor connection" as controlling a drone with high latency, and as the theming of a remote galaxy requiring extensive effort to send a distress signal.
